School of Continuing Education has been enrolling students since 1956, after nearly 60 years of unremitting efforts, has already formed a variety of forms of education qualifications involving Correspondence, Amateur, Self-examination, Master and International Master etc, and many other types of academic education, and has made a further education pattern , combining to some non-academic education forms like Forestry Industry training, Skills training, Vocational Qualification training and "Order" training.

Currently, there are 23 staff in the college, including 18 full-time employees, 5 contract employees. The school has general offices, network education branches and training branches; adult education branches have enrollment offices and student status offices, evening teaching departments, correspondence teaching departments, self-examination offices and graduated students management offices etc.

The number of students in nationality of the college is more than fifteen thousand. There are 30 correspondence stations (branches), distributed in 26 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities  of the country, there are five evening education departments in Beijing, including nearly 60 specialties: Junior college to university , High school starting undergraduate, High school starting Junior college. In addition to the traditional specialties like forestry, gardens, agricultural economics and management, the college also has opened some other specialties to meet the requirements of the markets demands, the new specialties including Art and Design, Business Management, Property Management, Animation, Architectural Engineering and Construction Supervision etc, has cultivated a large number of grass-roots technical key personnel for the forestry industry and society.

While making a good academic education, the college also has developed a non-academic education, international cooperation in education, language training, and a variety of projects at all levels. In recent years, continuing to rely on the forestry industry demand, the college has made a characteristic development. By strengthening cooperation with local government and the forestry sectors, the college has signed agreements on the personnel training with the Forestry Departments of Liaoning, Guangxi, Shandong, Inner Mongolia, Chongqing, Hebei, Hubei and other provinces and cities; has successfully carried out industry-specific training for provincial cities and counties in Sichuan Meishan, Panzhihua and Renshou County, Henan Yanling, Hunan Xiangtan, Shandong Zibo and Linyi, and Hubei Shiyan. Simultaneously, the college continues to explore cooperation with the forestry and medium-sized enterprises, and has become the country's education alliance governing units, and has established forestry industry university and enterprise alliance, and has taken the Inner Mongolia forestry group "orders" of forestry personnel training, as well as enterprise internal training for Oriental Gardens, Wing Forestry, etc.  The school actively joined the Northern Alliance, to further expand the education cooperation with Forestry Vocational Colleges, Secondary Vocational schools, and other Forestry Vocational Institutions.

After years of information construction, the school has found "a system, three platforms": Further Education Academic Management System, Further Education Network Teaching Platform, Further Education Online Training Platform, Further Education Mobile Platform. The college has invested heavily in building a network course studio, integrating all types of digital learning resources, more than 200 types, has provided online education services to nearly ten thousand students.
